UU. como\u00a0Distinguished Darcy Lecturer\u00a0<\/i>para este a\u00f1o.<\/span><\/p>\n

En la charla Ty\u00a0revisar\u00e1 el problema de la toma de decisiones en la gesti\u00f3n de los recursos hidr\u00e1ulicos cuando existe conflicto de intereses entre las diferentes partes afectadas. Analizar\u00e1 el uso de los modelos hidrogeol\u00f3gicos como herramientas de apoyo a la toma de decisiones cuando hay incertidumbre en los mismos. The lecture will build from the basic concepts of decision science to present concepts and recent developments in optimal design of hydrogeologic monitoring networks. He will also discuss how hydrogeologic models can be used for decision support under uncertainty. Finally, he will show that focusing hydrologic analysis on the specific, practical problems of interest can guide optimal measurement selection, advance hydrologic science, and improve the integration of science into economic and policy decisions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ty Ferr\u00e9\u00a0es profesor del departamento de Hidrolog\u00eda y Recursos Hidr\u00e1ulicos de la Universidad de Arizona. Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en la zona no saturada y en la aplicaci\u00f3n de m\u00e9todos geof\u00edsicos para caracterizaci\u00f3n, seguimiento y control. Recientemente, \u00e9l y sus estudiantes se han centrado en responder la pregunta sobre c\u00f3mo construir modelos, y con qu\u00e9 datos,\u00a0para resolver problemas de hidrogeolog\u00eda aplicada. <\/span><\/p>\n
